Mia Vucurovic

H.B.A, Addictions Counsellor

Mia completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Toronto and is a current student in Humber College’s Addictions and Mental Health graduate certificate program. Mia has experience in the mental health field volunteering as a peer support worker, where she encountered many people from various walks of life. Her main goal was to offer support and direction when requested, as well as to facilitate group sessions. Mia also has experience working in student-led organizations seeking to enhance mental health support for students. She is incredibly passionate about helping others overcome their struggle with addiction and mental health issues.

Mia is dedicated to creating a therapeutic relationship through empathy, compassion, acceptance, and honesty. Using her personal experience and education, Mia draws from techniques commonly used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while employing Mindfulness strategies to help clients address potential underlying issues. Mia hopes to one day complete a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology to become a registered psychotherapist.
